West Kootenay EcoSociety works to preserve wild places, air and water for future generations; to take action to reduce the crisis of climate change; and to promote sustainable local food systems. If you are passionate, organized, and love people, we want you to join our team as our summer student.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Working with EcoSociety staff and volunteers, the Outreach Coordinator will work with community members in Castlegar and Slocan Valley areas to protect sensitive ecosystems and promote sustainable communities.
Key responsibilities will include: Developing outreach materials; coordinating and training volunteers; managing the EcoSociety table at key community events; hosting community engagement events; facilitating community meetings; responding to public inquiries about conservation and sustainability issues; writing communications for EcoSociety’s website and social media; promoting EcoSociety and its programs; documenting EcoSociety events and programs.
